Strange, not too often you see an opponent retiring from a leading position - hopefully she's not too bad.
I think Eden was 3-1 up early on there, so Ho certainly had all the momentum. Very fortunate, but I guess a 'win' is a win and the points will come in handy with next month in mind - even if it's just to sneak into Surbiton Qs directly or something.

2 of 4 through is reasonable given that only 2 players were higher ranked than their opponents -but it is both those two that lost/retired. Beth looked on track for a win at 5-1 up first set, but then the wheels came off. Great to see Emily WS get a win, even if through retirement at the end, and just wonderful to see Mandy put out a MD seed now, having done the same in qualifying. She did allow her opponent to come back from 5-1 in the second set, but then at the second time of asking she served out to love. As Indy said earlier, one more win and she has her WTA ranking back
Start put back for a third time today to 4pm. The weather forecast isn't great for the rest of the day - but the weekend looks good, so I wouldn' t be at all surprised if the remaining rounds get compressed into the weekend again.
