Looks fairly comprehensive.

76 points to 61, 4/16 BPs converted to 1/8, 63% service points won against just 51%.

Probably around the expected score, Fognini won MC and is a decent clay player with pedigree and when in the right mood is probably too good for Kyle as shown here.

Shame though and Kyle is struggling on clay so far.

PS Pella beat Medvedev. I commented in Munich thread that Pella was one of the form players on clay this season and that is evidenced as Medvedev was one of the other 5 guys in form that I highlighted as well as being a big seed

And Sascha Zverev sends David Ferrer into retirement.

Congrats to David Ferrer on a fine career and making more than the most of his talents. He played at a time when the best ever competition was around and I suspect if he had played at a lesser time he would have got close to a French title or some more Masters. But he was top 5 for a long while and a real fighter. Hope he has a great retirement whatever he does next!

Well, a last 8 of :

Djokovic v Cilic
Federer v Thiem
Tsitsipas v Zverev
Wawrinka v Nadal

I think if this was the last 8 of Roland Garros we would all be quite happy really.

Yes, I watched him once at Monte Carlo. The intensity of his play and his powerful forehand always stayed with me. He just never eased off. For a play that's never really been in the spotlight because of the big 4 as you say, he's done fantastically well in his career both in terms of its longevity and avoiding serious injury too. Good luck to him now.

 Indeed.

Let's see, winners for today will be Djoko, Tsitsipas, Wawrinka to best Nadal and can't call the Fed/Thiem one. Thiem in 3 maybe.

I agree thiem will beat Federer, and Djokovic and tsitsipas. Stan v rafa though is a big call, rafa seems to have found some form so far this week and the faster conditions in Madrid give his forehand extra zip. I think he will prevail but it'll be tight.

Couldn't have been easier for NoDjo:  Cilic has given him a walkover!   cry

Well done to Dominic Thiem - watched the last few games. Wish I'd put a bob on as I thought he might win.
