I think perhaps we should bear in mind that the Kazakh's CH is 72 & that he has 12 years' more experience than Jay.

 Definitely, an experienced player and not at all a bad week for Jay. Clay isnt his natural surface and he has put himself out there to win matches on it and get a grounding. Does anyone know if he is due to play anywhere next week or is it all focus on RG now for Jay? I see James withdrew from Heilbron as Seagull commented in the entries thread, so presumably heading to Paris and practice in his case, presume Jay will do the same?

Jay was supposed to play Samakland next week but has just pulled out. Hopefully thats just to give him more time to prepare for RG

 The Kazakh had to retire in the 3rd set of the semi today

 Jay posted that he was glad to be heading home after 2 months away from home. That's a long time to be away.
