Not to mention Delpo/Nish, Schwartzman/Thiem, Cecchinato/Fucsovics & Dimi/Khachanov & Foggy, Koolhof & Medvedev hanging on to the coattails of established doubles players, which the latter are presumably happy to go along with because they aren't ranked highly enough to get into a Masters event with a more regular partner! The odious one & Tomic are in as WCs. Let's hope Henri & John can see 'em off.
Jeepers! Dimi & Khachanov have beaten the fourth seeds, Cabal & Farah, by 2 & 5, while the local WCs, Marrero & Verdasco, lost to Schwartzman & Thiem in three...
I bet Cabal & Farah are now as sick as a footballer's much-loved parrot: Dimi apparently has a problem with his right shoulder, so they've given Schwartzman & Thiem a walkover into the quarters...
That's another reason why I don't like this situation of letting singles players into doubles on their singles ranking. One slight niggle and they withdraw to protect their singles participation.
L16: Kyle Edmund & Neal Skupski CR 268 (236+32) vs Jean-Julien Rojer & Horia Tecau (NED/ROU) CR 59 (26+33)
JJR & Tecau despatched the Bryans (7) in three, 12-10 in the MTB.
L32: (3) Jamie Murray & Bruno Soares (BRA) CR 17 (9+8) defeated Radu Albot & Nikoloz Basilashvili (MDA/GEO) CR 206 (57+149) by 0 & 4

L16: (3) Jamie Murray & Bruno Soares (BRA) CR 17 (9+8) vs Juan Martín del Potro & Kei Nishikori (ARG/JPN) UNR (262+0)
2 wins then in round one...you can send the cheque in the post , Indy!
Seriously , well done to Jamie for a good win, and I think their doubles nous will get them through an attractive last 16 match with Delpo and Nishikori
Just Koolhof & Tsitsipas's 3rd event together this year. In the second they reached the Miami Masters final, losing to the Bryans, and beat Jamie & Bruno in a MTB at the L16 stage.
Here they beat in form (5) Mektic & Skugor, the Monte Carlo Masters winners, 6-2 6-4 to reach this stage.
