It's 6th seed Italian Jessica Pieri in the QF for Naiktha, who came from a set down to beat a compatriot. They were due to meet in the QF last week, but the unseeded Yerolymos ended up putting them both out en route to the semi final.

I'd guess it will be pretty much 50/50, but it would be great if she could go one better than 2 of her previous Pula showings and reach a first clay semi final of the year (one of those was halted by the weather).

Naiktha+ completes an excellent day for our doubles ladies. Wins 6-3 6-4

6 teams, 7 GB women in the doubles SFs. Not bad.

Lots of breaks, Naiktha was *4-2, but now on the brink of losing the first set. 5-6 30-40*

Has lost the set. 5-7. 7 breaks.

Second set not going much better, held to love in her opening game, but has since lost 5 games in a row. *1-5, so Pieri has won 10 of the last 12 games.

Wow, had a bite to eat and came back to see it's gone to a tie break, 3-3* at the changeover, but that's impressive fight whatever happens from here.

She lost 5-7 6-7(5).

Just saw she actually won 5 games in a row herself and had 2 SPs at 6-5 40-15* and a further one after deuce, but not to be unfortunately.

Naiktha's doubles SF ( plus final if she wins that SF ) is now scheduled for Saturday to add to all the Spanish 60K matches due and Freya's Russia 25K doubles final. Oh, plus a certain singles final in Rabat.

I don't see how. She has 50 pts dropping off doubles on Monday to be bringing in a 29 point counter. So these doubles points won't be a counting counter unless she reaches the final and then it's only a net 1 point gain when they go on, and 20 points less than what she has now.

Unsuprisingly Bains and Bondar are running away with the first set against the twins.
