Girls: J4 Nottingham, hard (Week 18)

Most of those who did well in week 1, including Esther Adeshina are among the acceptances.  The main draw should be out soon at https://www.itftennis.com/juniors/tournaments/tournament/info.aspx?tournamentid=1100044603

I see young Sophya Devas received a MD WC and won her first round match against her Danish opponent. Sophya was born in 2006.

Sophya is already closing in on the Tennis Europe U14 top 100 after a handful of tournaments, so one to watch. It was Eva Shaw's turn to cop being drawn against the unseeded Esther, who won 2 & 5. Millie-Mae Matthews knocked out the second seed, while there were also wins over seeds for 2005ers Given Roach and Jaquelyn Ogunwale

It will take R16 (and possibly QF) to put it into context. - but well done to those who prevailed smile

2005-born Jaquelyn Owungale and Given Roach and Ranah Stoiber all won today.

And Ella McDonald (also 2005) got to a third-set TB against the 4th seed.

So nice results.

Esther is cruising.

Hanna Smith and Megan Davies are the two GB seeds who lost.

Little Ranah is steaming along, beating a seed 0 & 0.
Esther lost easily to the top seed

Only three of the last 8 are British, which is perhaps slightly disappointing.

But of those three, two are born in 2005, which is excellent.

Well done to Ranah and Jaquelyn Owungale

Morgan Cross is the third quarter-finalist

These last two weeks seem to be have turned into a bit of a breakthrough for Ranah.
