Ms. Burrage really coming into her own now, starting to make the transition, step by step moving up.
Even if we had had more general success in 2019 on the ladies side - in a way that we palpably haven't - and the year were roughly comparable to the last 15 years, with greater production from the women as a whole, Ms. Burrage's performances would still be a highlight.
Yes a great win by Jodie, and with two one point counters waiting to be replaced and not much to defend until the autumn, I think she really has a good chance of getting close to the top 200 by the end of the grass court season. I really hope Katy can close her match out, but worse case scenario she's doing a great job tiring out Stojanovic while Jodie's putting her feet up (hopefully!)
Great stuff. Hopefully it'll on around 1pm UK (should be enough rest) and then that's not a bad afternoon of sport - Jodie vs Katy followed by a rare WTA final involving a Brit. Oh and the football scores in the background.
Chuffed for Katy and you could argue she needs the win more, given their respective starts to the year, but I'll be hoping Jodie wins.
Great come back from Katy after being 2 pts from going out, guaranteeing us a Brit finalist. Odds are that being Jodie certainly, but Katy will also be feeling much better about herself.
Worth noting Katys recent Instagram post:
Appreciation post for this sport. At the end of last year I was hating life and this years been a struggle with injuries but omg am I loving playing ball again
