Well that was a really great match to watch. Katy's defence was incredible at times, and when she went on the attack she won a lot of points.
I think I saw Eden and Jodie congratulating Katy at the end.
Katy's sixth and by far the biggest singles ITF title (the others were 10k or 15k).
Biggest title of her career by some distance and the biggest GB title of the year and the first above 15k that we could officially celebrate (Aussie Naiktha). Nice hug at the end as well.
Must admit I'm surprised (not necessarily today, but just the week in general) but I'm delighted for her and it's a very welcome return to the top 250. 0-30* with the opponent serving for the match in the QF to winning a W60 in less than 24 hours.
Adds another dimension to the old Wimbledon wildcard debate and will be a massive boost for her getting into other grass events directly.
BTW, Badosa is not just Spanish - she lives around 50 miles away on the coast, so hence the wildcard for the local girl.
She's had either a QWC or MDWC into WTA Madrid for the past 4 years and as she wasn't in the initial entry list for this W60, I assume she thought she would have had one this year as well, and when she didn't, requested a late MDWC here.
Badosa should have been in Rabat this week but had to pull out as rain delays meant she was still competing in Chiasso at qualifying sign-in, so asked for a WC here instead.

Yes, you're right - I've got my dates mixed up with Madrid starting earlier than a lot of WTA events.
She's also down for the 25k in the third week - currently at Q3 but there's a fair few ahead of her that are likely to drop out on Tuesday's deadline.
This week's points would take her close to being seeded in the second of the 60k's.
I hope this gives her a massive confidence boost for the rest of the year now.
She's down for the events in Japan the next 2 weeks. I wonder if she will make the trip now?
I was wondering about next week with Katy being down to play in Japan. It may be too tight to get there in time to start on Tuesday, but I'm pretty sure Katy would be keen to carry on playing if she could now she's finally on a winning streak. So pleased for her. Feel sorry for those who left her out of their top 10 predictions (ha ha)!!!

Yep, that's me
couldn't get everyone in and Katy D (injury) and Naomi (form) has to be sacrificed.
But that's the great thing - you're so pleased when they do well, coz that's so much more important, it doesn't matter.
Far better than putting someone in and them then doing badly - there's no saving grace in that at all.... (Gabi?)
