Was just looking at this before. I initially thought there was a mass exodus with Eden being so high, but her 18 Obidos SF points the other week will have boosted her up the list. Looks like a few have withdrawn though including SBG.
Eden likely to have 2 Spaniards in her way - hopefully she can make it through.
Jodie and Katy should be in the main draw and it'll be interesting to see who they get - it's a very weak field for a typical European 60k event (with a lot opting to play clay), so hopefully it can be taken advantage of.
I'll not be bothering, but just to say, they are streaming some Q matches today and EWS's will be one of them. She is 3rd on Court 2 and the first match on that court has just finished, so possibly around 11.30am for that one. Emily is 1/50 to win against her Swiss QWC, seems a bit random given a WC to an overseas player with such limited credentials (she lost her last match 0-6 0-6), so perhaps it's another Compson?
Eden saved 3 BPs to eventually serve it out for 7-5, broke early in the second, but has immediately been broken back - they seem to be struggling to hold serve there. 7-5 1-1*
The 16th Q seed in her potential FQR has dropped the first set against her Bulgarian opponent, so as it stands, (if they both come through) Eden may be playing a 25/26 year old ranked in the 700's.
Yup, a 3rd break in a row. 7-5 *2-1 Eden.

The 16th Q seed Hoste-Ferrer did come back to win. She's 20 and currently ranked 654, so a bit more potential than the other potential opponent. Not pulling up too many trees coming into this though:
25k R1 - L (to 2nd seed)
25k R1 - L (to 6th seed)
15k QF - L (to Carreras as 1st seed)
15k R1 - L (as 2nd seed)
25k R1 - L
So she has lost 6 of her last 8 matches, some at 15k level, although she has beaten Chloe Paquet this year. I'd like to think Eden had a good chance of qualifying.
