Apparently so. Being reported on Twitter that had Dan signed in for a LL spot he would have been in and also got a Bye in R1. In the end, Baldi took that spot.

 That is frustrating for him!

Jonny 48 live rankings now, could reach 43 and Luke might get to 40 with a win in the final. Excellent week

And up to #14 as a team on 810 points in the doubles race. A win in the final and they will pass the current #13, the Skupskis on 825 points.

Pity neither of these can for now get into ATP Masters events as pairs. And challengers don't count to the doubles race though do for the individual ( and hence combined ) doubles rankings.

Anyway their combined rankings are tracking in a good direction so hopefully later in the year ...

I see the guy who beat Dan in qualifying has reached the semis, beat La Monf on the way.

Thanks indy! If challengers don't count for doubles race, out of interest do they for singles race , ? Youd think it would be same rules?

That would be far too logical.

In singles all ranking points ( including 25K finals as well as challengers ) count to the race.

At least that all counting for the singles race currently gives us 11 guys with race points rather than the just 6 it would be if only ATP tour level counted.

Just to put people on warning:  now that I've checked what's what, I shall be dropping the "Fokina" bit (hs Russian mother's name) & referring to him in future as Alejandro Davidovich (his Swedish father's name.  He was born in Málaga & my authority is this delightful article published one of the local papers ten years ago (for anyone who can read Spanish).  wink  It quotes his mum as saying that he was playing with his father when he was only 2½!  smile  Oh & it says at the end that he prefers Roger the Lodger to Rafa because he felt sorry for the former after he shed "tears of helplessness" when he lost to the latter in the Oz Open final in 2009.

It's not going very well for our pair, down a set 5-7, 3-2* (on serve)
