It was looking so good at 6-2 4-2* as well as 4-3 *30-0, but a case of Sakkari upping her level and all the extra sets probably catching up with Jo and it's looking a very long way back for her now.

Sakkari serving for the title and she'll have ample chances to do so, 1-5*

That did escalate quickly, 10 of the last 11 games for Sakkari and Jo loses 6-2 4-6 1-6. Disappointing way to lose and the 2 year + wait for a GB WTA title goes on, but still a great week and obviously so much better than it could have been 3 MPs down against Wang Y in R1.

Well done Maria on her first title!
