Entries Week 19 - 06/05/19

Just spotted choinski in the braga challenger field this week. Also wonder if we might see Dan play Rome challenger as he looks a long way from Madrid qualies field, and Rome masters follows on. Whether Italian organisers would offer a WC, not sure

Thanks RS for the earlier update, including the pedantry! I've added the Madrid figure in now. It wasn't on the Italian entry list site I looked at, and I wasn't going to spend too much time digging for it!

Pretty sure Liam plans to play the South Korea challenger this week. He put something up a while ago saying he was playing two in Mexico then two in South Korea. Looks like he hasnt quite made the cut but should get into Qualies.

Couldn't find a list in English. If you have a link I can add it.

The only list I can see is on the menstennisforum where Liams name does not appear. However his ranking would have been just below that.

Laura was getting quite close to getting into either Obidos or Monzon but appears to have withdrawn from both (plus Fukuoka where she was also still entered) this morning.

Well, that's a pity, as it means she will lose her ranking for sure then. Hoped she might be able to pick up even just a single point from this week to retain it

Victoria Allen has now made Obidos qualifying, a bit earlier than I was expecting, and has been automatically withdrawn from Monzon. With Laura's withdrawal that will move Amanda Carreras up to 9th alt in Obidos.

I'd also like to express gratitude and appreciation to Seagull, FW, MichaelD and anyone else who makes the effort to contribute to this valuable resource.

Yes a huge thanks to all who research and produce all this information. It is so so informative and gives us all lots to discuss and mull over.

Thanks again

Whilst she was commentating for Fed Cup, her co-commentator was asking her about her hip injury and treatment.  She wasn't that forthcoming, but when pressed, "was she fit enough to play in the forthcoming weeks?" she answered "yes, definitely".  So here's hoping she shows up somewhere very soon.

Laura is still in the lists for the following week 13th May - withdrawal deadline tomorrow.

Sadly Laura has withdrawn from the tournaments the following week too - given at Fed Cup she said she was definitely playing in 2 weeks (i.e. 6/5) but was waiting to see where she would get in, something is definitely up. Whatever pretty sure to fall off the WTA rankings in mid May now and its difficult to see how she will get back on even if she wants to play as with no ranking of any type she will be right at the bottom of any entry lists including the 15k ones.
