Entries Week 19 - 06/05/19

I have a feeling Seagull is not very well/ tied up, so I'm going to post the heading entry for this thread, and hope he doesn't mind, as this is a role he plays I much appreciate. I'm also not going to pretend I'm able to fill in all the entry details, so will leave that for others to do, especially the men. I'll have a go at the women's entries.

WTA

Madrid Premier $7m (Clay) - Konta

FUTURES

Japan $60K (Hard) - Watson, Broady, Dunne (Moore)

Italy $25K (Clay) - Swan (Jones)

Portugal $25k (Carpet) - Silva, Grey (Webley-Smith, Allen) Alt: Carreras

Spain $25K (Hard) - Taylor G, Burrage, Appleton

Croatia $15K (Clay) - Popescu

Greece $15K (Clay) -

Mexico  $15k (Hard) -

I'm glad to see that both Laura and Mandy have good chances of getting into a 25k qualifying. Laura needs another counter by the week after this to maintain her WTA ranking.

Respect to Seagull and Michael...this is really hard to do. A lot of work goes into this - I tried but got stymied by not entirely knowing if someone is in quals or alt or what is going on

Glad you're busy rather than unwell smile

Yes, for the following week, I looked at the entries but decided there was no point doing anything until they've settled down a bit. Found it strange that players like Katie B and even Harriet, enter more than one W60 when they go straight into the MD, and in Katie's case one of the top 3 entries. She can obviously play where she wants at this level, so not sure what other factors are making the final decision.

I tried and this is what I came up with. Apologies in advance for any missing or incorrect information. I'm a poor Seagull, that's for sure smile

ATP

Madrid Masters 1000 (Clay) - Edmund (Norrie? Evans?)

CHALLENGERS

Busan S.Korea $162k - Broady (first alt)

Aix en Provence, France $150,000+H (Clay) - Ward (Klein?)

Shymkent 80 challenger, Kazakhstan (Clay) - Clarke

FUTURES

M25 Prijedor, Boznia & Herzegovnia (Clay) - (Parker?)

M25 Vercelli, Italy (Clay) - Martin

M25 Pensacola, FL (Clay) - (Watson)

M15 Sozopol, Bulgaria (Outdoor Hard) - (Kivanda)

M15 Troisdorf, Germany (Clay) - (J.Gray, Binding)

M15 Herakalion, Greece (Outdoor Hard) - Glasspool, Draper, McHugh (Jhun, Murphy, Thursfield, Gibbens*) *none too sure about these...

M15 Cancun, Mexico (Outdoor Hard) - Peniston, Stoute, Paris, Canter (Carter, Fox?*) *again, none too sure about them

M15 Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain (Clay) - Johnson (Romay, Quayle*) * goes without saying, not sure about these either!

M15 Tabaraka, Tunisia (Clay) - (Recci)

M15 Antalya, Turkey (Clay) - (Chaudhry)

M15 Kampala, Uganda (Clay) - Storrie (Hale)

Looks good fw, and it's certainly a lot - the main reason I wasn't going to take on trying to do the men's too! It's wonderful you've managed to do, and don't worry, I don't think anyone else is going to do the digging to see if you've omitted someone else from qualifying somewhere! smile And I guess Heraklion in early May is probably a pretty good place to be...

It's so much work for just one of the tours, massive kudos to seagull. Will try and do the ATP week 20 one as well, if you want to do the WTA side again?

It's times like this when we realise just how much work people put in to keep us all informed. Seagull is definitely one of those, but I also remember Paulisi doing this for a couple of years, and then of course there are people such as SC (and others) who do the results side of things as well.

And although it has been said before, it doesn't do any harm to say a big thank you to them again here for all the hard work and time they put into making this board what it is. So thank you everyone.

Yes I will. I'm just waiting for Katie B and Harriet to decide which tournament they're going to play in!!! Usually the mass withdrawals happen early next week, ie 4-5 days after the entries first appear, and then it becomes clearer what players actual selections are.

Top job, Michael and FW.

Victoria seems to have a choice of tournaments. She is in qualifying for Portugal, if the solitary Portuguese in qualifying has a WC, and in Spain, if 4 of the Spaniards in qualifying have WCs. I expect the choice will be made for her, as 3rd alt in Portugal, she'll move into qualifying there first. Laura will still need 2 or 3 withdrawals to make qualifying in either Portugal or Spain. And hopefully, there will be a shed load of late withdrawals from Portugal to allow Amanda to get in.

Good to see Holly make the step up from juniors. I've seen her on a few lists in recent weeks.

To make a slightly pedantic point for the Madrid entry, it is a Premier Mandatory with $7,021,128 in prize money.
