After the weekend, Kazakh players should know it's dangerous to go a set up against a Brit - Alicia duly handed out Detkovskaya's 'punishment', bagelling her in the 2nd set but it looks like rain stopped play and since it's not late afternoon there, I imagine the 3rd set is going to end up being held over until tomorrow.

Great stuff, took advantage of the kind draw and she's added to her first points haul of the season with 6 now. That's job done IMO, coming through quals and winning a match and anything else against the fairly promising young seed is a bonus. I suppose you could argue if she does want to progress further then she will have to beat a higher ranked seed at some point, but it's just good that she has a 2019 main draw win and if she can back that up with a main draw win next week then it's solid progress.
Not writing her off against the Indian, just that it's a bit of a free hit in my view. I assume that match will be happening today after rest?
Doesn't look like they will be playing any round 2 matches today - as it is a combined men's and women's event there's a fairly full schedule, including doubles. Sam and Lissey are fourth match on court 3

So must be 2 matches in one day on one of the next 3 days then. I'm not sure how much mental/physical exertion a 6-2 final set would have taken, but it'll be more of a level playing field in theory if R2 and QF matches (or QF-SF) were all played together.
There are 17 first round singles matches (including unfinished) and 8 first round doubles matches on the schedule. They are using ten courts though. They are 4 hours ahead of us.
Pretty close match, judging from the live scores. They were a double break down at 1-5* in the first got it back to *4-5 but were broken again.
Served for the second set at 5-4, but were broken.
Well congrats to Lissey in that from the unpromising positions of 1-3 and 2-4, she has managed to win the last four games of that second set and level the match 1-6 6-4
So... into the decider. Well, there's a MTO now, and with that turn around I'm assuming it's NOT Lissey.

...But Yadlapalli has recovered. Two breaks up in the second set, Lissey had BPs to claim one back, but suspect it is now too late *0-4
