Liam took full advantage of his chances - 2/2 on breakpoints against 4/11. Wobbled a bit in the tiebreak losing two service points at 6*-3 with a UE and a double, but recovered composure to win the next point, and after getting the break in the decider served out comfortably to love
Great to see both winning and just a slight contrast from Liam losing early as the top seed at both Sunderland and Bolton 25k to reaching a Challenger QF not long after.
QF: Liam Broady WR 334 vs (5) Sebastian Ofner (AUT) WR 174 (CH = 129 in August 2017)
QF: (7) James Ward WR 188 vs (16) Marcelo Arévalo (ESA) WR 329 (CH = 139 last July)
The Salvadoreño did for the second seed, Adrián Menéndez, in straight sets in his last 16 match... The head-to-head is actually 1-0 in Dino's favour: he beat Arévalo in three sets in the FQR of the Colombia Open (hard) in Bogotá in July 2014.
