GB ATP Clay Court entries

As much for my own benefit, I thought it worth summarising the schedules as they are currently for the men on the main ATP World Tour, namely Kyle, Cam and Dan.

Kyle - Marrakeh (out), Monte Carlo, week off, Munich, Madrid, Rome, week off, Roland Garros.

Cam - Houston (this week), Monte Carlo, Barcelona, Estoril, alt status then for Madrid, alt for Rome, Lyon, Roland Garros. In theory, Cam could be playing each week, particularly if Madrid and Rome turn into qualies for him, so could be a busy period.

Dan - Barcelona Qualies, Estoril qualies. Not clear beyond that for Madrid, Rome, Geneva/Lyon, but he will definitely be in Roland Garros. Presumably he will try and get into the qualies in some more of these later in the clay court season.

A bit concerned that Cam may play a lot of tennis there but likelihood is he will exit early in several of them on clay, so probably not a bad call. Nice tour of Europe though, some lovely  places to spend a week in these clay court locations!

As FW says elsewhere Jay is in Shymkent 80 challenger, wardy is in Aix en provence that week WC 6th may.

Dan seems some way from Rome or Madrid qualies draw so wonder if he may also go for aix to get some decent clay play?

Is it likely that Kyle, Dan and Cam will all play Eastbourne?

I would say it is highly likely, all will avoid qualies obviously and unless they have won lots of matches the previous weeks, cant see that they would not want another week on grass at home. I imagine each of the 3 will play Queens also (expect Dan will get a WC and Cam if he needs one depending on cut), and all 3 should make Eastbourne directly (again, Dan may need a WC). I cant see any of the 3 of them being late in 2nd week of RG (hope this isnt too negative!) and only Dan will probably play Surbiton, depends a little on whether they play in Stuttgart or Rosmalen on grass or in the Nottingham Challenger that same week after RG and feel theyve had enough grass by time of Eastbourne. But my expectation is that all 3 will be at Eastbourne.

Here is the GB entry for Madrid Masters Doubles:

3 Murray, Jamie 8 Soares, Bruno 9 D+D 17
11 Ram, Rajeev 20 Salisbury, Joe 21 D+D 41
13 Edmund, Kyle 155 23 Skupski, Neal 35 S+D 58
19 Bopanna, Rohan 43 Inglot, Dominic 24 D+D 67

Shame Ken isnt high enough to get in with Neal the cut off is 69, and Bambo and Jonny arent there yet either in terms of ranking.

Good to see Joe and Rajeev back in harness together

Thanks for the info on the likely grass court plans for the lads. I've got tickets for Queens and think I'll leave it at that for this year.

Wish I had more holidays from work!

No Federer this year Jon but otherwise seems on par with last year. Archived list is here: www.menstennisforums.com/6364-mercedes-cup/943506-stuttgart-entry-list.html

Cool, thanks - looks strong with 6 in top 20 though  v 3 last season (incl Fed) and 69th rank  for 19th entrant last year initially versus around 15 places higher. But main thing is there are a lot of attractive players to me and with generally the newer younger next gen guys having attractive more attacking games, I am certainly looking to a very interesting grass season.

And the Dutch event entry is out, another attractive set of players, although not as strong as Stuttgart. No Brits playing in either of these events so it would be great if we see any of Kyle, Cam or Dan in Nottingham and even Surbiton the week before

  Tennis on telly  @tennisontelly

Dan Evans didn't enter qualifying for Geneva or Lyon, although he would have easily got in either.

Thanks FW - says entry cut off is 227, so Jan would be well down from there as well. Looking at previous years, final cut will be 240's so Jan wouldnt get in on that basis at the end of the day. Or Brydan!
