That's a pretty routine looking win there for Albie and it's not really a shock given Katie's recent results. Albie seems decent enough, but apart from a home 60k final to start the year (where she faced no seeds at all), she hasn't really pulled up too many trees this year - lost a tight one to Maia in either Shrewsbury or Glasgow, followed that up by losing 1-6 4-6 to Robbe (who Jodie beat in Bolton quals) and then lost 3-6 1-6 to Rybakina in the 1st round of her last tournament. Rybakina is a similar age and current ranking to Katie, but has certainly made a contrasting start to 2019 - she is 76 in the race whereas Katie is 271, somewhere where I genuinely feel her game currently is.
She has a lot of points defend in the coming months and when you're the top seed in a relatively weak field and would have nobody in the top 300 in your path, you've got to be looking to do better than a QF, especially after just scraping through in the last round. Her average rank in the prediction league is 118 and there's a number of people who have her in the top 100, but she really does look a million miles away from that with the results she has produced over the last 8 months.
Jodie is looking far more promising out of the two and they'll probably be similarly ranked heading into Wimbledon.
