Just out of interest, the British wins in the 3 home ITF events to date tally up as follows

Hoyt - 6 wins
Glasspool - 6 wins (incl w/o last week)
Peniston 5 wins
Draper - 4 wins
Broady - 3 wins
Matusevich - 1 win
Findel-Hawkins - 1 win
McHugh - 1 win
Johnson - 1 win

As per the womens side, it will be interesting to see who comes out top of these indoor hard events; if the LTA had anything about them the overall player with most wins (or in some points table) would be rewarded with a guaranteed wild card into Wimbledon or at least one of the big grass events pre Wimbledon.

So the final table for these early season ITF events in GB, in terms of GB wins is:

Peniston - 7 wins

Hoyt - 6 wins

Glasspool - 6 wins (incl w/o last week)

Draper - 4 wins

Broady - 3 wins

Findel-Hawkins - 2 wins

Houghton - 1 win

Matusevich - 1 win

Pauffley - 1 win

McHugh - 1 win

Johnson - 1 win

So well done to Ryan Peniston, 7 wins isnt a bad show over the 4 events, almost a QF average per event. Would be good to see him start to translate it into more ATP points. Wild card to one of the grass Challengers or ATP events as a reward though?  And maybe for Evan, Lloyd also and for Jodie Burrage, Maia Lumsden and Harriet Dart on the ladies side ?

33 wins in total is c.8 on average per event. In our halcyon days a couple of years ago, we would see well into double figures, at least half the first round winners would be Brits each week, the new ranking system perhaps has hit that in terms of entrance opportunities and probably we are that bit weaker at the moment.

At least Sijsling failed at the penultimate hurdle, losing to Artuņedo (7) in the SF by 2 & 2.  biggrin

Further to some of the discussion on this thread, here is the USTA FO wildcard challenge format for 2019
