Probably looking like an MTB for Holly as she is now a double break down in the second set, but hopefully it'll go the way the others have gone today, if it does come to that. Freya lost 2nd set won MTB, likewise Esther, Emily M as well as Muntean. I'm sure CD said that a couple of GB men won their 2nd sets but lost the MTB as well. You'd think you'd have the momentum going in, but perhaps it's players thinking the set is gone and reserving energy whilst the opponent still has to win it.

Yeah, Holly 6-3 1-6, into a MTB. Really hope she can set up that K Pitak match.

Grace 3-6, but looks very respectable numbers.

Holly lost 6-3 1-6 4-10. Shame the way it went after that first set, but certainly no disgrace losing to a top 8 seed. It is a shame though as an A Pitak and Holly win would have guaranteed a qualifier and you'd think Emily M and K Pitak will probably struggle to follow up their 1Q wins. Esther probably has the best chance having already put out the 2nd Q seed, but then her opponent will be completely fresh from her walkover.

Good luck to all 3 though and I'll be treating any advances to the 2 we are guaranteed as a bonus.

Edit - yeah, Emily M certainly isn't a 13/8 live dog in this match, the odds are 1/80 vs 12/1 in favour of Noel. Mind, Esther was 7/1 in her first match,

Esther is 11/4 in her FQR match.

Emma's not here. Rajecki has the 4th WC.

Melnikova appears to be the withdrawal.

Well that's a bit of a big blow. Lost a genuine contender to someone who be using it for more for experience. I did think it was strange Rajecki wasn't there with pushing Jodie reasonably well in the first set of quals last week, but just assumed they were given someone else a go in quals.

Good heavens that's a pretty big slap for Lissey, well, and a few others too!

That helps, thought it might have been her (not played since retiring against Katy) or especially Maia who would be most doubtful, after paulisi's feedback last week. Pleased Maia is there and hope she is feeling fine.

Still not seen the draw yet.

I was looking forward to watching Emma this week, so that's a shame. Perhaps she might have picked up a niggle late on against Jodie or they are a bit wary of the WC situation, but seems strange that she was up for Sunderland on the Friday and now not in - she had the potential to do damage with this field.

Main draw is on the ITF site and it's a mixed bag again, but largely decent.

Could it have been a late decision Ie.that Emma was down for a MD WC when qualifying got under way, and Amelia not due to play at all, but Emma is a very late withdrawal?

And then, with the main draw at that time not having been made yet, can they can bring in a replacement MD WC rather than give a LL place?

Harriet (1) vs a Q and then an unraked IR or Q after that, so she'll be happy
Ella vs Waltert IR - that's a decent IR, so not great for Ella, but she'd have likely struggled against most, so no massive issue
Moore vs Ponchet (3) - not great
Maia vs Savinykh (5) - again, not great, although that is a repeat of the Shrewsbury final last year where ML won.
Naomi (6) vs Q - depends who it is I guess (Laura...), but can't complain
Jodie vs Rajecki rematch - good. Decent match for JAB to ease in, if she was still feeling a few effects from last week
Victoria vs Q, see Naomi.

So a chance for 3 or 4 to go through there and it will be interesting to see where the guaranteed GB qualifiers are placed. That Cadar (0-6 0-6 vs Allen) plays a qualifier, so hopefully we will benefit there.

From my POV, Jodie, Maia, Victoria were the main priorities of those 8 in the main draw and it would be nice for Harriet to get a few wins this week as well, so for 3 of those 4 to have draws that they can't really complain about, that's fine with me. Could have been kinder for some of the others, but as I say, I wasn't as fussed with the likes of Ella, Tara or Rajecki here, just my view, but hopefully Ella and Tara can do something against their superior opponents.

Oh and it's potentially Jodie vs Naomi in R2 (or probably more likely Jodie vs Q...) so Jodie will be happy that Naomi is the seed blocking her path to the QF, but hopefully we'll get a guaranteed QF-ist there.
