Week 15 - ITF (W25) - Sunderland, GB - Hard Indoor

Great set for Esther against the #2 seed, 6-4.

Holly S underway as well.

FQR matches on courts 2 and 3 are being streamed. So that will be Lissey and Laura followed by Sam on court 2.

Great win for Emily Morton.

Completely confirming the premise above that, whoever Fiona C is playing, always back the other one.

Very nice win fro Kasia Pitak too.

That's certainly two, on paper, that are 'unexpected'.

I think it could be quite a long match for Pitak the younger. It's 2-2 and 24 points each after 36 minutes play.

Speeding up

*4-4 after 58 minutes.

37 points all, 2/8 BPs won vs 2/6

Interesting that there is a stream available for one of the men's FQR matches, so that might bode well for the women's FQR or the main draw, although saying that, I'm pretty sure in some events the men have had streams and not the women's, so we'll have to see.

But yes, some very promising and 'bonus' results thus far, just hope at least one of Holly or A Pitak come through so then at least someone is going to get a point and a place in the main draw. A Q1 win for K Pitak and E Morton will boost their stock, opinion on here and the LTA and should give them confidence, but they'll ultimately get no actual credit in terms of points unless they fellow it up with another win.

As Red Squirrel said above, Lissey and Laura's match will be on livestream (courts 2 & 3 seem to be the chosen ones)

Managed to miss that, probably typing that out whilst it was being posted. Good news and they'd probably be the 2 games most would want to see.

Well that has cheered up my  day somewhat (though the AA man did quite a good job earlier also !).

Esther looking like going to a MTB 6-4 *2-5. 11 DFs not helping her cause there.

Holly 4-2* and a chance to get the insurance break.

A Pitak had 3-2 40-15*, but Noel has won 8 points on the trot to hold and break so is now in a commanding position 3-4*. Could still be twists and turns, but the Frenchwomen looks on her way.

Holly 6-3 :)

Esther 7-7 on the MTB.

I know they don't have to have it out and can delay, but GB always same to be the last to get their draws out. Obidos on the same time zone has been out a bit and the Calvi draw where Katie Swan is in has been out for about 2 hours (obviously they are an hour ahead, but would have been out long since if they were on the same time).

Want to see who has withdrawn and if we get a decent set of fixtures like last week.

Esther had map at 10-9* and was looking at a second serve, but 10-10 now.

Has another MP on serve now *11-10...

Couldn't bear to watch as all those MPs came and went...... but great job, Esther, and great win.

Particularly pleased for her, given all the injury problems she's had.

A Pitak out 4-6 4-6. That's 4 wins from 4 against GB these past 7 days for Noel and she'll be a favourite to make that 5 from 5 and make the main draw again.

Holly a break down in the 2nd.

Poor Grace still not on.
