The Q13 seed Coppola has also withdrawn, but instead of a replacement, the Frenchwomen Armitano has been given a bye to QR2. Although unlikely, if Esther could somehow get past the Q2 seed, that's who she would play, however Armitano was actually the favourite to beat Coppola, so it probably hasn't changed things from that perspective, plus she will now be fresher.
No idea how Emily Morton plays but the odds have come dramatically since last night as people have realised she's playing Fiona Condino
It was 4.0 and is now 2.6!
Yeah, that is a significant change. Just checked and Condino has lost her last 14 matches stretching back to early October and all but one in straight sets, but then Emily was obviously heavily beaten by Sam last week. Would be great if the younger Pitak could get some joy against Noel as the respective winners face each other in the FQR, but you'd suspect Noel would qualify again.
I see Piper is 11/2 to beat Molinaro which isn't the longest considering she is playing a good opponent, especially when you see some of the other odds like Kimberly now 20/1 to beat Paar (now 1/500 instead of 1/200). Piper may well lose routinely, but those relatively low odds perhaps suggests that she does have a little something about her.
Esther is 7/1.
Yes, Codino is fully, fully ranked, whatever her ranking is. She plays week in, week out, and obviously gets a few wins here and there. But, if you're going to get a ranked, seeded opponent, you couldn't get a better chance.
I see that Armitano has won by walkover - was there no alternate around who could have stepped in???? Seems a shame....
Well the women's matches are slowly getting underway and looks like the change in the opponent hasn't helped Lillian at all, *0-5. Lillian had won 12 points, so must be getting to like 30 or 40 in some games, but doesn't look like the potential boost she might have been expecting.
She's on deuce in the 6th game.
Laura also underway with an instant break.

Ellie T does seem to be competing OK against Laura. It's 1-4*, so pretty comfortable, but she is getting into decent positions. She been 30-0 on a couple of games and then lost the next 4 points and got another to deuce and never less than 30. Ultimately we'll likely look back and see Laura 6-1 6-1 or something and look routine and you obviously have to win the big points and getting to 30 or 40 counts for little, but from her sake at least it's not total domination. Another hold to 30 for Laura, 5-1* (23 points to 15)
A break to 15 now for Laura to take the set 6-1. I suppose in reality, that is pretty comfortable.

I was a bit concerned (re last week) when Ellie held to 15 and love in her first two service games this set and had more points in the set than Laura when it was 3-2*, despite being a game down, but 2 seemingly comfortable games in a row and Laura is almost there.

Yes, also a little bit concerned by Ellie's two holds to love in the second set - but Laura served out to 15 anyway.
Kimberley Mpukusa seems to have duel nationality. She is GBR in the draw and ZIM in the live scores.
Well, Grace Piper has been given German nationality on live scores, which I'm assuming is just a complete mistake. Kimberly has actually switched nationality as far as I understand and should (also) be shown as GB.
Alicia in a strong position now, a set and 3-0* up over Alice.
Is there a reason why Amanda C never considered playing these 2 events? I know she has largely stuck to clay (and carpet) since her return and not played on hard for a couple of years, but she'd be a better MDWC alternative than some. I guess if she sticks to what she is doing on the 15k clay scene, she'll work her way into the clay 25k's soon, but even a first round MDWC defeat here would have given her a bit of a shortcut.
