Tara going from strength to strength at the moment. She and Amina take out last week's doubles title holders now. Potential opponents in the final are on court.
Didnt watch the doubles..... it was over so soon. Anybody watch it?
I watched a bit of it. Tara seemed to favour the technique of ducking down low and having her partner serve straight over her head, which resulted in a few missed returns from their opponents.
So then, a bit like last week, who do you want to win tomorrow?
Big match for both, Tara could do with the 12 extra points more to give her a better chance of getting into / more choice for future tournaments, especially leading into the grass season. 12 extra points for Harriet doesn't really change too much in the grand scheme of things, she'd jump about 3 or 4 places, but of course an extra 20 for winning the title and the confidence that would bring could be what really gets her season going again after the post Aussie absence. It's a difficult one, I think Harriet will have more chance of winning the final, so ultimately I think I want her to win - but hypothetically, had the winner been guaranteed to lose the final, then I'd have gone for Tara if that makes sense.
Haha, you do make it hard at times Ace. One match where I can live with either player winning - and one would be the expected win, and the other the romantic win that would fit the script of Indy's proposed film
And qualifier Paar has just taken her first set 6-2 against 2nd seed Anderson. Long way to go in both, but not often you'd get a Q and WC making a 25k final these days, especially given their age, length on tour and ranking - i.e. not a young, talented up and comer.
Wow (again) just magnificent from Tara. Really pummelling Harriet's second serve, standing well inside the base line to take it. Being very aggressive, and varied, but not wild. Sets this match up really well now to see what Harriet has got. Tara 6-3
I'm not sure who's coaching Tara now, but someone seems to have got inside her head in a very positive way. Early break for Harriet though beginning of second set, aided by a lucky net cord - Tara's not going to complain about net cords this tournament though!
Now Harriet's tightened up and Tara's lost focus a bit. Harriet running away with the second set. Tara playing too fast now too, so the DFs crept back in that last service game. She's given up on this set now, with Harriet the chance to serve it out now, but can Tara refind herself again final set?

'Long way to go' indeed, since this post Dart has taken the second set 6-0 and Paar retired very early in the 2nd set at 1-2. Anyone know what happened there?
Tara playing a bit better 3rd set, but she's lost the intensity she had first set and Harriet has stepped up her game and is cruising now, hardly making any errors. Tara will be lucky to get another game.
That would make far more sense. Google Timeline definitely had Paar greyed out first, but it is showing Anderson now. Was thinking it must have been a nasty fall or something if Paar retired with that healthy first set advantage.
