After her early blip, Harriet clicked into gear and has now won 7-6(1) 6-0 Victoria didn't have the problem finding gear, a set up 6-2 As for Naomi, a break down already against Noel, the qualifier she also lost to last week *2-4
I wish Victoria's match was the one on stream. Watching Naomi is painful these days!!
Yes indeed. Some impressive serving stats there for Victoria - 3 aces in a row start of the second set. However Armitano has held from 0-40 down to level at 1-1 start of second set.
Rather unbelievably on an indoor hard court ITF shows Naomi as having 0 aces and 6 DFs against 7 aces and 0 DFs.
Given she converted 0/2 BPs against 4/20 and took 102 first serves against 53 it's rather clear where the constant pressure was. The final game was a Naomi service game which went 20 points and was won on the 3rd BP/MP.
There hasn't been a round up since Peter's much earlier posted match-ups. Maia stands out in the losses column. Two tough first round matches both Bolton and here, and no wins.
R1: MURRAY, Samantha (GBR) Q 573 lost to PAAR, Laura-Iona (ROU) Q 378 CH=280 2013 1-6 3-6 R1: ROBSON, Laura (GBR) Q 823 beat Arianne HARTONO (NED) [IR] UNR/54 (CH:661 Oct 18) 6-2 3-6 6-3
Laura manages a third set comeback. She now has 9 points, but only 2 counters unfortunately. Needs another point/ counter before 13 May or she will lose her ranking.
