Jay has drawn eubanks and ward plays giraldo in qualies, if they both win they play each other in fqr. Both are on 3rd after 10 am local time start.

Bambo and Jonny are 3rd seeds in doubles draw, same half as bryans. Skupski bros are 4th seeds.

Houston draw is pretty weak, top seed Johnson is only top 50 player. It's a bit like Newport on grass sitting awkwardly in usa when everyone of note wants to be in Europe now. 6 of 8 seeds are Americans, chardy is 2nd seed and in cams side of draw. It's a lottery really and anyone could win this event. Cam could win this event. With Kyle possibly top seed in Morocco, it could be a very interesting week for British players if Kyle and cam play their best.

The details:

QR1:  (q3) Christopher Eubanks (USA) WR 150 (= CH) vs Jay Clarke WR 199 (CH = 173 last September)
QR1:  (ALT) Santiago Giraldo (COL) WR 230 (CH = 28 in September 2014) vs (q8) James Ward WR 180 (CH = 89 in July 2015)

Given Dino's current form, I have no great hopes for him in that one.  cry

Pity.

So little really happening in our men's ranks beyond our current leading 3.

Hopefully Jay can push on again, Jack Draper progress and maybe such as Evan Hoyt push on at a higher level.

But the cupboard is pretty bare for generally progressing youngish players on the circuit compared to our women, whatever views on some of their form this year.

What on earth Wimbledon do re WCs will be interesting. Do they like last year pass by some of the relatively higher ranked but at best plateauing in the rankings players and fling Q WCs at juniors, some of whom from last year, although mostly still junior aged, haven't so far been seen much this year or what?

We will have our 3 direct entrants, Jay maybe for a MD WC, Jack Draper for a Q WC if he gets fit and shows some form but after that for MD or Q WCs? James may be on the qualifying list but MD WC? As discussed recently maybe Evan Hoyt with some challenger form could put a Q WC case. Mr Choinski I would assume would be a Q WC consideration. Liam too but just generally hoping things pick up for him.

It is a fair point and being honest right now beyond Kyle, Cam and Dan getting main draw direct entry, and Jay maybe as you say then it is hard to see where they go. 3 wild cards will presumably go to the Challenger winners, assuming they are non GB players and also not multiple winners, leaving 4. If Andy was  able to get fit in time, and decide to play , he would clearly get one although I dont know if he would get PR status still? Looking below the top 100 or so, Tsonga is at 116 so would be a candidate as they often award older stars of the game, Chung and Sock might also get votes based on past glories although I am not sure Sock deserves sympathy, I do feel Chung is possibly deserving in the injured stars category. But certainly no other Brits in my mind deserve one unless someone can go on a form run between now and the time the wild cards are awarded.
