I'm finding myself hoping Emma wins as there's a bit of a worry Jodie might not be fit to play if she wins. However Emma seems to have lost some of the freedom she's been playing with all week.
Yeah, it's a bit strange ST. I was initially hoping Jodie would win, but do also have my concerns now. It hasn't really helped it as a spectacle, first and foremost you want them to be fit and healthy.
Couldn't agree more AV - being fit and healthy is most important. Re the match, considering that both these girls have really strong serves it's a bit surprising to see so many breaks.
Well that was a bit strange. Jodie in 3 so will move to circa 300 in the rankings. If it's as bad as it looks then I'd give a walkover in the doubles personally and try and get as much rest as I could for the bigger final, even if that would be harsh on Alicia.
Jodie 2-6 6-1 6-4.

Diatchenko won and it was actually 6-2 6-3. I saw bits and pieces of the first set and it did seem a lot closer than that, a lot of deuce games, but looks like she did run away with the second a bit easier (despite dropping one more game). It was 62 points to 44.
Diatchenko would have been very tough even if Jodie was fresh and firing on all cylinders, so will be an even tougher task now, but if she is able to compete well enough physically, then it should be a good yardstick to see where she is.
Didn't see any of the match. Thanks for the comments.
Sounds like a strange one.
As above, had expected Jodie to win.
But it's not easy for either of them when one is injured - tricky for Emma too, it changes the normal dynamics.
Do hope she's ok - she said in the interview yesterday that she was pretty tired.
What a lovely way for them to win the doubles, a real powershot of a backhand from Jodie, and a brave hold-nothing-back smash (with super footwork) from Alicia
