Week 14 - ITF (W25) Bolton, GB Hard

It's a bit worrying for Jodie given that she has the doubles final later as well. Fingers crossed the physio can sort her out.

Jodie back on court, but massively strapped up on her left thigh.

Sunderland as well. Weak field so another great opportunity to get more points - we'll potentially get an SE for Emma to free a MDWC but be in a worse position as we'll be losing a contender for someone making up the numbers without wanting to sound too harsh.

Seems strange how you can go from beating someone circa 200 6-1 6-0, probably in under an hour, seemingly feeling great to this. Maybe something happened in the doubles?

Not looking great either way.

I think it happened during this match - she was up for it in the interview last night.
Certainly taking her time between points now -at last

 Harsh.

High standard of tennis. Jodie is being forced to go for lines as too many balls are coming back.

Emma's gone off the boil a bit here, the MTO has definitely affected the rhythm of the match. Perhaps she thought it was in the bag with the handsome lead and struggling opponent.

I wasn't meaning her tennis, I meant physically. As in if you can beat a seed, or two, in next to no time, feeling great, to then being a hampered in the next match out of nowhere. As TA says, probably happened during this match.

A bit of a turnaround now. 6-2 1-5.

Happy that it's one set all. Hoping to see a close decider now.

I think that sums it up really. Jodie is serving well but not doing anything particularly exceptional, and Emma isn't getting into the points like she was earlier.

Jodie serving much better, lots of cheap points. Emma cannot get into rallies where she was dominating.

I think Jodie was carrying the injury for much of the first set. In one of the early games inbetween points she did touch that thigh and then briefly doubled over.

I'm watching on ITF site and just realised it was on pause. I was watching some of the Monterrey highlights in my phone but was thinking Emma has taken a long time here. Completely missed those 4 games this set, ha.

Looks like they all went quickly though, lots of holds to 15.
