Well done Mr. Briggs - Nice to see The Telegraph giving some publicity to the SF match, highlighting our two teenagers. (And not often you see the word 'coruscating'..... )
"In a gigantic hall in Bolton on Saturday, a pair of British teenagers will contest a World Tennis Tour semi-final. By Wimbledon standards, there are only pennies at stake. Boltons champion will take home around £2,300, whereas the All England Club pays almost £40,000 just for showing up. Even so, this has been an encouraging week.
Both 19-year-old Jodie Burrage and 16-year-old Emma Raducanu have shown coruscating form, each crushing opponents with top-200 rankings as if they were used to buzzing around Madrid, Rome and Paris with the big guns...."
I would like Jodie to win, but hoping for a good match, preferably 2 tight sets - wouldn't want it to be a 6-1 6-1 type match either way which we've been used to this week.
Would have really liked to have watched it live, it'll probably be a case of 'After the Lord Mayor's show' next week in Sunderland when I plan to get along. Still, very pleased and grateful that there is a stream.
Better from Jodie in that game to hold for 5-2. I don't mind who wins but can't bear to see either of them get thrashed. Disappointed not to see more spectators. I live in the south east so it would be a major trek for me, but I'd definitely be there if I were local.

Absolutely on both counts. A thrashing either way would be disappointing and yeah, in Shrewsbury there was a big crowd for Diatchenko vs Wickmayer on a Saturday, I know that was a 60k final so might appeal to a more casual crowd, but when they changed the court streams to purposely set up Court 7 for seating, I was expecting a decent number. Not sure if the seats are for officials and not the public, but it's disappointing that even some of those are spare.
