Really enjoyed Emma's match. Lots of long rallies and good play by both, although I think Robyn got a little bit rattled when Emma went ahead. Given the standard of the opposition two wins out of three today was a fantastic achievement by the girls.
Yes, a fantastic result for Emma! And whatever else she does this week, when these points go on she will rise to a CH around the 550s. Likely to be Badosa Gibert, 2nd seed next, unless she pulls a Naomi against the qualifier Noel.

Same situation as Kalinskaya regarding Lugano qualifiers. She's scheduled to play there on Saturday, so if she wants to, she won't be able to beat Emma and play her Bolton Semi Final. Wort case scenario would be her beating Emma, getting SF points, and then immediately withdrawing. Will be interesting to see how it all plays out - clay is her favourite service so Lugano would probably be the better option. I was half tempted to put a little bet on Noel, but there's currently no odds on Bet365.
I'm usually one of the more pessimistic people on here, especially the way these first few months have gone, but with all that in mind, I think there's a good chance of an all GB semi final. If Badosa is fully committed and wants to win Bolton then she'll be the favourite to get to the final, but if not, then Emma will have a good chance of either getting past her or Noel. Marcinkevica has just been broken at *4-3 in her final set, so 4-4 now, but Jodie will probably fancy her chances against either her or Shinikova, especially if it's the Latvian who Alice took to a TB the other day and Eden beat last week.
Our girls are definitely in the better half. Had either have had Diatchenko especially or Minnen then it would have been very tough (despite Emma beating her last year as she is playing a lot better this year), but it does look more manageable now:
Diatchenko vs Chwalinska
Minnen vs Kerkhove
Jodie vs Shinikova/Marcinkevika
Emma vs PBG/Noel
Whatever happens from here, to get 2 unseeded players (neither direct entrants by ranking) into the QFs is outstanding and anything else in a bonus, but there could be a chance for even more. Fingers crossed.

It is 7th Shinikova up next for Jodie who came through in the deciding set TB. I was hoping it would have been the other one, but she'll have certainly been on court far longer than Jodie today and there should be a half decent chance tomorrow. Will be an interesting match and surely streamed.
Yes was just going to post Tara and Emina's result. Tara may not have won much at singles recently, well not in MDs anyway, but she and Emina have been having good runs in the doubles...
QF: Emina BEKTAS (USA) Tara MOORE (GBR) beat Yu-Chieh HSIEH (TPE) Pei-Chi LEE (TPE) 6-2 5-7 10-3
You can't follow the scores, but Noel is a set and a break up on PBG.
Oh wow, that would be some result if she continues like that... Don't know if that will make Naomi feel better or worse. Probably worse though, a real opportunity missed...
