Hmm, was hoping they'd get at least one of the 2 Portuguese WCs, but I suppose you can't really complain with an IR without a WTA ranking - hopefully shades of Vic vs Cadar earlier. Probably a bit more of an unknown as well given she has just turned 21.
If the good Galfi shows up then she should probably have too much for Beth unfortunately.
Whew, thank goodness for that. A good win for Katy in the end, would be lovely if she could go on a little run here... heaven knows she needs the points.
R32: Sarah Beth GREY (GBR) [Q] 451 vs Dalma GALFI (HUN) 306 (CH:136 June 17)
R32: Eden SILVA (GBR) [Q] 462 vs Julia PAYOLA (ESP) [IR] UNR/20 (CH:628 Dec 18)
Well, the sun was smiling on us, one way or another in Portugal. Without checking back, that looks like the best result for both katy and Beth for some time.

Great job done, Dunne.
Not sure about SBG, but yes, it's Katy's best ranking win since Fourlis way back in September. Mind, any win since then has been few and far between. She did get a good win against the former AO jr winner Liang a few weeks ago (not ranked as high as Hesse), but that win did coincide with the youngster losing 6 matches in a row, all in straight sets, so she obviously isn't in the best place now tennis-wise. Really pleased for her.
It's 20 year old Swedish IR Bjorklund or 19 year old Alvarez who was just a couple of places behind Katy in the Acceptance List. The IR was actually the pre-match favourite and is already an early break up.
I make it 8 matches for Beth since Obidos in October - and only her third win.
Think her singles record since leaving Portugal is 3-7 TA, but either way, it has been disappointing, especially some of the scores like 1-6 1-6 to Fett and losing to Ella.
A bit worse than I thought then, must have missed a couple of losses. Been some good doubles results though. There's also been some time out injured, so good to see her back with a win.
