Week 14 - ITF M25 - Bolton, Great Britain (indoor hard)

Just to note that Luke Johnson posted a very decent score, losing 4-6 6-7(4) to the second seed

And, yes, well done Evan !

Shame for Neil who was ahead for all the start of the second set but ended up losing it, 1 & 4

Very nice win for Aidan, though.

I have Mr McHugh predicted to rank above Mr Glasspool by year end, so this will be a nice early test!

Oops. Sorry Mr McHugh. Maybe next time.

Not been watching, but that's a bit of an unfortunate collapse for Liam, 5-2* up and loses the first set 5-7. Up until 5-2, he held to 30, 0, 15, 15, broke to 15 and all the opponent could manage was 2 holds to 40, so it looks as if he was cruising.

Wow. Poor Liam. You can't really recover from that, that's one spectacular collapse.......

(poor my 20p too cry)

Evan gets another tough one next against Igor Sijsling (ATP CH52) who has dropped just 6 games in 4 sets so far, including dumping out the 3rd seed Durasovic 1&2 in the 1st round. Not all doom and gloom though as Evan has already beaten him this year in Barnstaple, so it should be a terrific match.

Unfortunately that is 20p you're not going to get back.  Liam loses 5&2.

Got to feel for Liam.

He's certainly not had it easy with the estrangement from his father when he returned to the LTA fold for a time and what more generally he has revealed recently.

All the best, lad.

Am i missing something with Sijsling?? Why the demon faces??!

These will both be tough - but at the outset, GB would have only expected 1 player in QF round on seedings, and sadly Liam didnt make it. But Lloyd (starting to find form again at last) and Evan should be pleased with their efforts so far - just hope they can get more wins and get atp points...

Yeah. I waved goodbye to that poor friend as it vanished down the toilet ..... But these things happen.....

Luckily I went 'big' on Lloyd and Evan (a whole 50p each). (With 10p still out there for outsiders, Scott+, too). And the women have been mega today, so all's good.

But I do feel for Liam, that's a really nasty first set result, given everything, in a home event.

Do hope he's not too knocked by it.

Looks like Ryan has also lost his ATP ranking point next Monday also and will no longer be ATP ranked

No, that point is from December - USA F35 25K runner-up.
