Great updates, paulisi

Although this seems slightly contradictory:

"Aidan was terrific, just keeps the ball in play".

But it certainly seemed a good game on livestream, only watched the first set, which was close.

Such a shame for George - there aren't many opportunities and you need the rub of the green - one win here or there can make such a difference.

NB You say Liam's next match will be tough. Were you impressed by the guy? He's only being making QFs in 15ks recently, it's not much on paper.

Aidan's style is built around impressive defence and it was very impressive.

I'm suggesting Liam's match will be tough as the guy dispatched Penno very easily.

Some top quality doubles on show. Liam's doubles was full of quality and so close
Harry and Adam lost 11-9 in the MTB ( the machine broke and they went to paper scoring)
Evan withdrew from the doubles, but should be ok for singles

He has also beaten Liam comprehensively (1&2) already this year in Germany in January.

Thanks. I meant were you actually impressed with his game, not just the result against Ryan P. And if so what about the game, because he hasn't been doing too well. But we're nearly at the next match now and your reports have been great so I'm not trying to nag for more

Re Aidan, I've seen him play several times and loved his ball skills, even as a youngster, a natural, not the hot-housed style you see in some. But I do not feel that his defensive skills will be enough, although I appreciate that, given his size, he's limited in his choices.

Phooey to that - time for 20p on Liam smile

(Don't rate Ryan P that highly so not too perturbed by VDZ beating him)

Some very enjoyable tennis on livestream this morning.

So far:

Not surprisingly, Lloyd outpowered Aidan to take the first set, 6-3, giving Aidan the run around.
However, Lloyd often goes a bit AWOL in his head so it's not won yet.

Close for Luke Johnson but ended up losing it 4-6.

Jack FH's isn't streamed but he also lost the first 4-6

Good chance now the second sets for both will be rather quicker.

Evan is in a real tussle (also not streamed) - just gone into a TB

Is there a link to LS for both men and women combined?

THe ITF livestream link shows both, Helen. Although the two streamed courts have men's matches at the moment.

live.itftennis.com/en/live-streams/video.php

Jack's second set was indeed a lot quicker, and he loses 4-6 2-6

However, Luke has shown good resilience, and is making it tough for the Swiss second seed, now 4-3* to Luke.

Lloyd at the moment has the match in hand against Aidan, *4-2 up in the second.

Evan won the first set TB

Thanks CD. I have streaming turned off as I only have limited internet access at the mo, so am only following LS.

Aidan started well enough in the second but got a bit despondent as he realised he was going to lose - his only real hope was that Lloyd would blow up/go AWOL as, play for play, Lloyd was the stronger player. But, credit to Lloyd, he didn't.
As said, I don't really see Aidan as ready for this level yet, or not as his best option, at any rate. He's a smart kid, he must have considered college etc. But he has an attractive game and lots of skills, I like watching him play ...
Nice to see Lloyd looking injury free and back on form

Lloyd def. Aidan 6-3 6-2

Evan is certainly becoming well battle hardened! A great string of results he's putting together.

Interesting to watch Evan's match, in the corner, while watching Emma on livestream.

He's really doing well this year.
