Ryan's the first to bite the dust:

L32:  (IR) Botic van de Zandschulp (NED) WR 497 (ITF 154) defeated (WC) Ryan Peniston WR 682 (ITF 158) by 1 & 3

But Evan plays a blinder:

L32:  (IR) Evan Hoyt WR 490 (ITF 19) defeated (IR) Yannick Mertens (BEL) WR 429 (ITF 78) by 3 & 3  (in only 61 minutes! biggrin

And Lloyd follows his example, though it took him slightly longer (an hour & 46 minutes):

L32:  Lloyd Glasspool WR 430 (ITF 90) defeated (5) Martin Redlicki (USA) WR 389 (ITF 143) by 3-6 7-5 6-3

Coming to expect these sort of results from Evan, but pleased to see Lloyd get a very good win under his belt too.

Lloyd played well, served well against a big server.
Penno was totally outgunned
Evan played very well, but his opponent had the trainer on early.
Jonny Gray fought well, but was always chasing the game.
Anton is currently on top against Luke similar to their previous meeting.

Very pleased for Luke. He needs the result, I feel, more than Anton. And having admittedly only watched the third set, he certainly deserved it: loved all the net approaches, even just to mess things up, and some nice play from the back too.

L16:   (WC) Luke Johnson UNR (ITF 465) vs (2) Marc-Andrea Hüsler (SUI) WR 357 (= CH) (ITF 270)

Hüsler almost lost to Pete Bothwell (7-6(8) in the third) in two hours & 36 minutes!

 Clearly Husler hustled well then

Spoke to my tennis coach this evening who was there and a couple of things to note (Im not putting this in both threads):

He saw Evan and thought he was seriously impressive, indeed took the biscuit out of Mertens which was nice to hear.

Jonny Gray is better than what hes showing

Didnt see much of Lloyd but said what he did see he used his weapons well.

Said Anton is good but thinks there are better coming through (the lad that ran Liam nearly lost to last week, cant remember the name)

More funny is that he is a rep for Naomi Broady. He said hello etc etc then she pulled out a different branded racket in her dubs! I dont think he was too impressed!

Nice to hear the feedback, Jaffa.

And all very largely positive too.

The lad's name that your coach liked is Brandon Murphy, just for info.
