So no Sunderland SE for Emma then.

Hopefully Harriet and especially Jodie will be fine to play (Maia as well). Bektas and Scholsen will now move into the main draw, which would leave Tara 5 withdrawals from getting in so I doubt that will happen. If any GB main draw player were to withdraw, selfishly I would quite like it to be after the qualifying draw - we should have at least 13 players involved in the Qs - 11 currently in the list, minus 3 MDWCs (I'm assuming Victoria will get the 4th), +5 QWCs, and because we had the likes of Sam, Laura and Holly lose in the FQR last week, the chances are we'd probably have a few here as well, maybe add Freya and Alicia to that, so if there were 2 or 3 LL spots opening up, we might benefit more from that. Of course, any of Jodie/Maia/Harriet withdrawing before the Q draw might sneak the likes of Holly and Kimberly into the quals directly and allow 2 other players further down the chance to play quals via a QWC, but while they would get experience, the chances are there'd be a lot of routine 0-6 2-6 type results, and ultimately, the more GB players in the main draw, the better.

I've put far too much thought into this...ha.

Hmmm, so what is her WC allocation this year? I'd love her to get a WC to sunderland in some ways as she's played alot of matches recently, but also I wouldn't want her to blow her limit for the grass season. And are WTA and ITF separate allocations?

WTA and ITF are separate.
Manchester, Ilkley and Surbiton are all ITF
Depends which route she wants to go down - Nottingham, Eastbourne, Birmingham qualis.

Emma is allowed 4 WCs between her 16th and 17th birthdays, subject to the usual maximum 3 in main draw ITF. I'm not sure if this includes Wimbledon as the rules say any professional tournament, but separately define this as any WTA or ITF WTT 25s+.

Hmm, that's a difficult one then, 4 all in doesn't seem many, especially as she's already used one in Glasgow. But then again, with her intending to play Bolton and Sunderland, the chances are you'd have expected her to have used a WC in that period. In her QF post match interview she said she planned to play Sunderland and then take a long break for her GCSE's - just saw that they'll generally finish roughly Wed 19th / Fri 21st June - not sure if Emma has any exemptions, but if it is in and around those dates, that would likely rule her out of Surbiton, Manchester and probably Ilkley (and the WTA equivalents), so you're probably just really looking at a Wimbledon QWC (if that even counts) or a Eastbourne QWC (if she has a Wimbledon MDWC) and then after that it'll just be the 3 or 4 home 25k's later in the year.

I'd say the Sunderland field is one of the weaker W25s in this country that I can remember for a while. She'd have a good chance of coming through quals, especially as the likes of Paar (who she beat this week) would be one of the higher Q seeds, but then she has had 9 matches in the past 2 weeks, 5 of them 3 setters, so avoiding 2 extra matches on Monday would be beneficial. I guess it'll ultimately come down to her grass schedule and if she does intend to (or even can) play any events before Ilkley or Eastbourne - if not, get the Sunderland MDWC.

One main draw withdrawal as Manasse should have been top seed, but it's Paar - Jodie, Maia?

No Tara, Emma, Victoria or Ella in quals, so I assume they'll have the MDWCs.

Laura in quals.

The BUCs champs are still on going, so I'm not sure the likes of George Houghton or Tierney will play this week. Not sure any of the girls are affected.

Don't know if Emma dropped out last minute or what but it's Amelia Rajecki who gets the other wildcard.

Nice to see Maia and Jodie, as possible injury risks, still there though.

Does anyone know what the position is with Ali Collins? She scraped into qualifying in Tunisia at the end of January but gave a walkover. She's another on 2 counters, so another with the WTA ranking that goes with it, would really help to get her into 15Ks.

Ali was listed for the Glasgow 25 K in Feb but never made the qualifying draw. Does anyone know what has happened to the Scottish girl with the Russian name who was a promising junior same time as Ali Collins

I remember her name (Anastasia Mikheeva) and pictures on social media of her wearing an airboot a few years back so presume injury sadly

Yes, I was wondering about Alli too. She is another like Victoria Allen that has (now had thankfully) WTA points, but without enough counters, but negligible ITF points so has poor status on any entry lists.
