Week 11 - ITF (W25) - Nishi-Tama, Japan - Hard

Wasn't good news but still needs reported that Tara's doubles week didn't end as she would have hoped.

F: (3) Emina Bektas (USA) & Tara Moore CR 568 (349+219) lost to (ALT) Haruna Arakawa & Minori Yonehara (JPN/JPN) CR 1015 (509+506) by  6-4 6-3

Gabi's match is scheduled for 2am. Had it have been 12 or 1 I might have stayed up to watch as it is an interesting match, but I can't justify potentially staying up to 5am to watch a far from perfect stream.

Lopatetska is a fairly big 4/11 favourite, Gabi 2/1, so hopefully I'll be waking up to a bit of an upset.

Good luck Gabi!

Despite struggling with her 1st serve, Gabi has a double break lead 4-0*

There is no stream for this.

Lopatetska breaks her duck *4-1

Perhaps not surprising the result, but disappointing nevertheless after Gabi was 4-0 and 5-3 up in that first set... Still and encouraging week, and at least Gabi has arrested her slide into the 300s. Now, to go back up the other way again. She has one more week in Japan, and after that her schedule is not clear. As regards Jodie, it was a good week for her too, and unlucky that she met Lopa in the QF, considering her score was not dissimilar from Gabi's. Jodie is scheduled to be here another two weeks still, and unfortunately will need to keep playing out of qualifying. However would be good to see her too looking to break upwards from the 300s.

F: Gabriella Taylor WR 251 lost to Daria Lopatetska (UKR) WR 304 (CH 301 last month), age 15, JCH 24 6-7(4) 6-2 3-6

Shame the first set went against her after the great start; here's hoping Gabi can have another good week next up :)
