Week 11 - ITF (W25) - Nishi-Tama, Japan - Hard

Just re the WR 300 mark, Gabi might still need another win for the 01/04 rankings.

OER have her forecast as #297 on 158 points and these points are correct. Forecast #300 is on 156 points. These are players' worst case scenarios for points so would expect a few close behind Gabi to add by then, as she could herself of course - further this week or next week.

As said she then has 9 points ( net 8 ) due off on 08/04.

So just keep winning for all reasons, Gabi.

In her SF, first set to Gabi 6-3 ( 2 breaks to 1 )

A little timeout at the start of the second set losing the first 8 points.

Has just broken back though.

4 further holds in a row.

5-5*

15 yo phenom Daria Lopatetska has eased into the final 2 & 2 over the 6th seed. Jodie is the only player so far to take a set off her this week.

Fantastic. I was just reading through the posts on here and when I saw 3-3 final set I did fear the worst, but what a great week.

Obviously a very tough final. By my reckoning GB are at least 0-4 in the senior ranks against the impressive Lopa (Broady x2 last year, Maia earlier in the year and of course, Jodie yesterday. It would be fantastic for Gabi to win and get those extra 20/21 points, but when she's shown very little form coming into this week, beat the #2 seed and Ruse just to get the the QFs, I honestly think it's a case of great week, anything else in a bonus. Would love her to get another title though.

Yes, great win for Gabi, and a very welcoming 30 points once more, now just the little task of those last 20... I'm sure Lopa will start as the favourite for the final, but Gabi can be well pleased with her performance this week and has nothing to lose. Jodie's performance against Lopa should also have given Gabi some heart too. Holding thumbs now...
