First set in the bag for Gabi, 6-3, but Ruse is serving for the set at 4-5* vs Katy. Off to bed now - given Gabi's score, I'll hope to wake up to at least 2 wins in the morning.
Yes, I have to finish something before I can sleep, so am only tracking the score now... Gabi doing well however without close attention, hope she can keep it going, first set 6-3
And how wonderful, in that emerald green world, Gabi has landed a wonderful victory! Katy has staged a second set comeback too, and is now into a 3rd set. Winner of her match will play Gabi next.

Full singles round up. Jodie faces the top seed next, all 5ft 4ins of her, which makes her ranking impressive.

Happy with that overall. I did see Gabi that had won before I eventually went to bed and also that Katy had taken hers into a decider, but was an instant break down in the decider.
Tough match on paper for both next. I'm not too familiar with Catherine Harrison, possibly a college player just turning over? Anyway, as I mentioned earlier, the Greek top seed was 8/11 to beat her (Harrison evens) which I was surprised about, but the very close pre match odds definitely reflected in the match as the Greek just about came through 7-5 2-6 7-6. Jodie beat Gramm at Shrewsbury a few weeks and was the 1/2 favourite to do so. She obviously had home advantage there, but she'll definitely have a chance. If she does manage to win again, I'd say a potential QF with Lopatetska would be a far tougher prospect, but it would be very foolish to look beyond the top seed because she's obviously earned that superior ranking.
Really pleased for Gabi, impressive scoreline indeed. It doesn't get any easier for her up next, but without digging through her results, I'd imagine that'll be one of her best wins for some time and long may it continue.
2/4 through is a decent return considering one was a Q, one was an IR, one played a very high seed and another played one of the best players in the draw.
