Yes, in play. The second match on Dan's court is fairly early in the 3rd set and then there is Wickmayer vs Doi and then Dan vs Bemelmans so good luck Dan and night, night.
Just remind me, if Dan wins fqr does he get 16 points plus 10 for first round main draw (or wherever he eventually gets to).
Qualie draws in lower half of main draw look more inviting should Dan beat Rubin, which I think he should do.
It looks like he has 8 points in the bank for the first win and then will get another 8 for beating Rubin and then a guaranteed 10 extra minimum for qualifying. So 8 if he loses to Rubin, 26 (overall) if he qualifies but loses R1, 41 if he loses R2 etc.
There is a Q vs Q draw in the top half, but a bit like at the AO, that favourable draw would result in a very tough R2 match, this time Djokovic. If he was thinking of an extended run then the Copil, Haase or Kukushkin spots in the bottom half may be his best bet.
But he obviously has to beat Rubin first before we plot his best possible route, ha.

Yes, I followed the second set, it was not very convincing at all. No aces and low number on return points but still he found a way to win. He really has not had a great deal of recovery time from his recent exertions.
I think if Dan does get the win in FQR today, then it should push him up a few places to around 90 in live rankings. As said, clearly a long way to go but for Dan the point is largely that the trajectory will only be up, it is just how fast and how far.
