Ps where is the real thread for Kyle v fed, did I not get invited to the conversation?!
Sorry. Too busy ranting in the Chat section. You can guess what I was ranting about. I actually thought Kyle would have a shot tonight with nothing to lose but the scoreline suggests he was nervous in the early stages. But an R4 in a Masters ending in a defeat to Fed is not the worst week. Over IW and Miami last year Kyle amassed a total of 20 points. This time round he has 90 already. More importantly, he now seems back to full fitness.
I just read the rant, I was just debating the same point you made . His answer was that representative democracies are possibly the worst kind and feed self interest. As such hypocricy is a built in given.
Not necessarily Kyle, but a largely disappointing days tennis in Indian Wells - 7 singles matches completed, 6 on the main courts and play only lasted just over 4 and a half hours - it's not even 4pm local time. A retirement, routine wins for Fed and Nadal (although I suspect most of the paying fans would be happy with that), a shock WTA absolute beat down and straight set wins in the other 2 matches. I'm so used to there being so much going on around this time these past few days. Shapo vs the Pole did at least go 3 on the one match away from the 2 show courts.
I woke up this morning expecting to see evidence of a fight and some commentary on here. Having trawled MTF to find out what happened, I'm in shock really that Kyle really was in pieces in the first set. They've referred to him as 'Shankmund', and made a pun about him being a challenger level player. I wonder where his head went? Has anyone got any more insight? It's pretty depressing right now.
bit of a hammering, but Kyle has turned around a winless season to win 7 on the bounce. Hopefully he can take this forward into Miami and the clay (and also be able to cope better next time he plays Roger)
