Week 10 - ITF (W25+H) - Irapuato, Mexico - Hard

Having watched that Katie was solid. Served well but her forehand seems a bit pedestrian, which is totally not Katie usually.

I haven't been watching, but the first set has went, 3-6 *0-0. Solitary break coming at 3-4.

Gets an early break in the second set thanks to a DF. *2-0.

Looks a really nice set up there and generally a lot of effort for a relatively small event.

Hmm, break handed straight back (to 15). 2-1*

Katie broke again the next game and it went with serve thereafter and Katie has just taken the 2nd set 6-3.

That's where I'll leave it and hope to wake up to her making the final.

3-6 6-3 0-0*

Katie has just got one break back from a double break down in the final set but still in a heap of trouble.

3-6 6-3 *2-5

Solid enough week for her, decent points haul with the extra +H points on offer, got a win against someone who beat her recently and up to in and around her career high. Hopefully more wins against those similarly ranked will follow, but then, again VCR was in the top 100 for over a year until recently and shouldn't necessarily be over the hill at her age.

She is entered into the main draw of the French 60k w/c 25th March, so looks like that'll be where she plays next.
