Voegele's head to head against Sloane is now 4-0. Surprising and yet not an upset all at the same time.

Great stuff from Jo particularly as these courts are apparently pretty slow (according to Tennis Channel folks anyhow). Good couple of wins and whatever happens from now sets her up nicely for the faster courts of Miami.

The womens game is fascinating just now, there basically isnt a dominant player or group of players. Halep potentially although she seems a bit injury prone when the intensity starts. I think we could easily have 4 different Slam winners again here. Dont think that will happen in the mens.

What you have just written there Jaggy could word for word apply to the Men's Doubles......still no chance of converting you?

Yes, the women's game is very interesting though beware more interest might be fixed in one player, the current WR 1 who is halfway to an Osaka Slam.

Can she break out and dominate?

I was just gonna say that the last 2 womens slams have been won by the same person. I think she might probably win wimbledon but we'll have a different winner in Roland Garros. Someone random i think.

Calendar year I was meaning, so a different 4 winners possibly again. Last year Wozniacki, Halep, Kerber and Osaka. I dont see Osaka winning either of the next 2 so we will see. Kvitova and Serena to be watched in the summer. Probably as much as about 15-20 potential slam winners in the womens. 3 or 4 on the mens side.

Isnt that always the case, flip a coin to decide in a stalemate. So its a no from me.

I was out last night, so missed Jo's match. Impressive scoreline. Starting to put together some wins again - up 10 in OER live rankings to WR37

L32: Johanna Konta WR 45 vs (7) Kiki Bertens (NED) WR 7 (=CH)

H2H: 2-1 to Jo. Their last match was a 6-3 6-3 win for Jo in the 2017 Cincinnati Premier 5. The previous 2 matches were back in 2012.

As of now Jo is up to live 37, Kiki to live 5.

USA change their clocks tonight, so play starts at the slightly earlier time of 6pm tomorrow (and next week). Jo is 2nd on Court 2, so around 7.30/8pm.

Annoyingly, after beating Heather so closely, Garbine (who plays Serena) and Carla (lost in singles) withdrew.

Ed to fix typo

Nishikori has beaten Mannarino in a 3rd set TB to leave Stadium 2 free for Konta vs Bertens.
