QR1: (q18) Heather Watson WR 113 vs Sara Errani (ITA) WR 234 (CH 5 in May 2013)
QR1: (q6) Katie Boulter WR 85 vs Allie Kiick (USA) WR 145 (CH 136 in September 2014)
Each have Swiss players as the other seeds in their section : Heather has (q3) Stefanie Voegele WR 109 and Katie has (q14) Victorija Golubic WR 82 who has just won the Indian Wells 125 title (hence her ranking and of course Indian Wells familiarity).
Errani hasn't done much, particularly since her second enforced layoff, so if Heather loses, I will eat my hat.
Oh no, I hope it's an edible one FW! As Helen says, absolutely anything is possible with Heather... she is an expert at pulling out defeats from the jaws of victory... Of course this should be a comfortable win but... Oh come on Heather, do something decent for a change!
Not the best draw for Katie. As Indi says, Golubic is ranked ahead of her now and that's unfortunate considering Katie was one of the higher seeds, but even before she can think of that, she has someone who has a 3-0 H2H over her including one in Washington late last year, Kiick has also a lot higher ranked now since their last meeting and the books have it 5/6 vs 5/6.
As for Watson, who knows. Errani has lost both matches since her lengthy layoff (including to Kiick last week) but Hev is Hev. Too close to call that one I think.
Errani was in fact WR 143 last week (not bad for effectively just a few months of tennis before that layoff). I just looked for the reason behind her big rankings drop to this week and it is due to her having won the Indian Wells 125 last year ( without dropping a set).
In last week's reenactment she was, as said, beaten by Kiick in R1 in 3 sets. Kiick was then thumped by Kanepi.

I agree with Ace, Hev's match is too close to call. I certainly don't agree that Hev should beat Errani comfortably. Since her return she has lost to Bencic, an in-form Jorovic and Kiick. Not easy matches.
Boulter follows Kozlova-Kratzer on Court 6. Play starts at 7pm UK, so we're probably looking at around 9pm for that. There must have been a little bit of money gone on Kiick since this morning as she is now the 4/6 slight fave. Errani is actually the same odds in her match with Hev.
Watson is 3rd on Court 3, following Kruger-Vikhlyantseva and Gibbs-Ferro, so roughly 10.30/11pm.
Is there any reason why Harriet is not entered in the qualifying? Has she played since the Fed Cup?
That remains a mystery. Her last singles match was exactly 7 weeks ago against Sharapova. She entered IW but withdrew last week and was still training in London a few days ago.
Whether she picked up a knock at the Fed Cup or just had her confidence knocked a bit by that double bagel and wants to work on a few things, who knows, but it does feel like ages and would be good to see her back in (single's) action soon to build on her great start to the year - it does seem like a chance missed to progress even further.
