I don't have a twitter account - I read other people's but I know that if I had one myself it would be another very enjoyable but major drain on my time (it's a bit like the conversation about betting that was had before - know thyself and thy demons - I just KNOW that I could/would spend WAY too long on twitter ..... so better not to get set up in the first place).
I'm thrilled that Rayane Roumane has just taken out the top seed.
Age 18, Rayane is born 2000, won the Petits As, and the French junior championships at least once, but never played juniors, to the best of my knowledge.
He's a very tall lad, and had a year off with injury, and just never thought juniors was worth it.
But huge potential - people may remember him when he played Tipton and Shrewsbury when he was 16, I think, and beat Josh Paris a couple of times, and Sean Hodkin.
His family are/were North African and their relationship with the FFT has not always been smooth - the father manages Rayane and always comes across very well, very considered, diplomatic. I think Rayane trained in Spain for quite a while, there was a lot of hoo-hah about Nadal praising him to the skies.
