I no longer feel welcome here. At least not at the moment. Bye for now.
Very sad. I do find here (and on forums in general) there are always a few people trying to make "smartass" comments (as Indi called them) but unfortunately the sarcasm or dry wit can easily come across differently and be construed as criticism. There are undoubtedly posters here who have to be taken "with a pinch of salt" at times. I find it best to simply smile to myself, utter a silent "yeah right, pal", ignore the comment and move on. I accept that sometimes that is not easy to do.
I am sorry you don't feel welcome, because I can assure you very strongly that you are. Everybody is. Yes, even those that try to make those occasional "smartass" comments. I sincerely hope that you will find your way back here soon. You will be missed.
Nishikori is Japanese, saying all oriental people look the same is just not on.
Racism is not tolerated on this forum under any circumstances.
Except she didn't mean Nishikori Vandy, she meant Wang Qiang, who is Chinese, if you'd bothered to read the thread above before biting her head off.
You can always rely on Vandenburg to get hold of the wrong end of the stick and/or fail to check his facts before opening his stupid bloody mouth & trumpeting his (often erroneous) assumptions on this board (or, if he does look at the facts, wilfully misconstrues them!)!
I actually thought Vandenburg was trying to be funny - and failing miserably.
I thought his 'mix-up' was on purpose and his anti-racism comments tongue in cheek and taking the proverbial.
And, flamingowings, I absolutely do NOT believe that anything Vandenburg says about you should be taken seriously. You are most certainly very welcome.
It's a shame Flamingo Wings. I do think forums can be a bit affected by people trying to be clever or funny and missing completely. Hopefully you'll read these messages and come back.
My son is playing in a paintball tournament in SoCal next week....the neat part is that I will be at IW on Tuesday and Wednesday....will be fun to see Dan in the Qualies....

I pop in and out of this forum to follow Andy and British tennis. Clearly I don't know nearly as much as many of the posters, so once I got my feelings hurt nine or ten years ago....it stung, but I continue to pop by....I hope you do too because a number of people are sad that you feel so unwelcomed and they welcome you, so please return and stay.
Hello Montana Doug.....now theres a name from the past! Did that happen to you? Sorry to hear that, hopefully you can follow your own advice you offer flamingowings as it'd be good to read your contributions more often.
Maybe a lesson on how good contributing posters can be effected by some careless / uncaring / smartarse posts.
Hope to see you back soon, flamingowings.
I think Indy has summed it up beautifully we have lost some outstanding posters over the years ...... generally they dont comeback and post again which is very sad.
Nice to hear from Montana Doug, hope you enjoy watching Evo!
I'm pleased that Dan is playing, and I think it makes sense provided he is totally injury free - he needed to be in Indian Wells any way, and it isn't too shabby a place to hang out. He probably is mentally fatigued, but I'm hoping so many matches in a short space of time will increase his battle hardness further.
Last week's final was a very close affair, and with slightly different fortune he would have won. I think he had a very good dose of fortune in his first round match, sometimes tennis matches are knife edge affairs.
It is a big month for Dan. loads of points available, he is in excellent form and playing on his favourite surface. He only has 6 meaningful points hauls, and it is hard to imagine him not making the cut for RG. I wonder if he will play any ATP clay events? Purely in terms of ranking, the best option would be the hard court challnegers.
Now if only I can change my sleeping habits, perhaps I might get to watch some tennis this week.

That sounds fab Doug, I hope you get along and it would be great if you can post a first hand report.
I saw some action from the challenger on atp site last night and crowds where non existent, I hope they are better at the main event Qualies, but at least you should have no trouble getting in!

Ps paintball tournament! ? Is that a thing ? Wow !
Montana Doug, Im an enthusiastic amateur poster too: I dont know the technical side of the game like others on here do. But Im interested in everyones views. I can sometimes find info that other posters wanted to know and its always interesting hearing different opinions and live reports. Please keep posting!

Yes, a very destructive and attention seeking poster IMHO. Come back FW, I'd much rather have you around than Vandy!
