Such a shame for Katie. I managed to watch it via Tennis Channel and she started the match really well - hitting the $%^& out of the ball. Was in control and up a break until suddenly, she looked dizzy and unwell. Commentator thought it was a knee issue but looked very clearly like she was light headed.
Good news is she's striking the ball nicely and should be better by next week.
Wouldn't under estimate the Chinese girl who has been in good form recently. As regards Jo why do people make such unpleasant comments about her not on this forum but on one of fhe other forums. We also need to remember that players cannot play their best all the time.

I saw the Yafan vs Haddad Maia match before Jo and she played really well, dominating the longer rallies and hit some winners from crazy angles, I was just saying Vekic (or Jo) would rather play Yafan than a fully focussed, in form Stephens in the semi final (not that we see that too often these days...). 8 guess she'd rather play Yafan than the 2 other semi finalists as well.
Vekic has lost to lower ranked players this year in Ons and young Birrell at the AO, so yes, by no means a forgone conclusion, but she is a 4/11 fave or 70% in Jon's tennis abstract so she will generally be expected to make the final, as would Jo, but obviously not to be and a decent chance missed.
