Good result for Jo - nice and safely through round 1.
Well done Ace for staying up again last night - Im afraid the late finish the night before did me in!!
Yeah, in bed by 1.30am is about the latest for me, so it kind of depends on how the first match goes, had Buzarnescu-Gavrilova gone into a decider, I would have called it a night. It'll be a similar story tonight, depending on Vekic-McHale before it.
Have to admit I'm not really enjoying this commentator on the Konta match. She's clearly knowledgeable and knows what she's talking about, but just doesn't seem too natural and a bit of a grating voice. Perhaps I'll get used to her if she becomes a regular.
Quite strange seeing Jo in am international event, it's her first since Nottingham, although I guess as she slips down the rankings without her 'top 10' status, we'll be seeing her in a few more going forward.
Wins 6-4 6-1. Started well (8 points in a row) and ended very well. More competitive in the middle and was broken once when trying to serve it out at 5-2 and had to fend off BPs later, but decent enough overall and sets up yet another match with Vekic.
Boulter-Kenin just about to start, but I can't stay up for that unfortunately.
Young Andreescu through to the QFs as well.

Yay, Jo replaces one of her Premier L16 55 pointers by 60 points here so far. So up a net 5 points. Hoping she can go on to a much more substantial rise.
Boulter had 2 BPs in the opening game, but back at deuce and that's where I'll leave it. Fingers crossed she can do well and hopefully wake up to good news.
Boulter does get the break (thanks to the net). *1-0. Great start.
