Not a great second set so far - far too many errors from Katie but still on serve at 3-3

*3-3. Perrin only dropped 2 points in her 3 service games this set as opposed to 7 for Katie, or 8 including the one in this game.

5-4*. 3 reasonably comfortable holds in a row. Hopefully it's going to be exactly the same as the first set and the crucial break just at the right time...

All of a sudden from nowhere really, Katie had a match point which she missed at 5-4*. Conny then held on to make it *5-5.

Indeed, perfect timing - if it had went to a third, I doubt I'd be staying up for it.

Good summary there, not vintage, but good enough. A few errors followed by lovely forehand winners, but good serving overall and ultimately enough to beat Perrin. Think she will need to play a bit better to beat Kenin (and Peterson), but 30 points minimum in the bag (to replace 9) and another win at WTA level in a new tournament for her.

Worth staying up for :)
