Yes be interesting. He's not called Edmund so I guess that improves his chances with some immediately

Well done Cam!

For the record:

QF:  Cameron Norrie WR 64 defeated (SE) Mackenzie McDonald (USA) WR 71 by 3 & 2  smile

180 points & $93,160 now guaranteed...  Zverev (Alexander) (2) or Miñaur (5) in the semi...  That match now under way.

takes Cam into the top 50 (at least in live rankings) - excellent! I think he gets 180 points so far this week, his biggest week ever points wise. Nice.

Indeed

As said 180 points for the SF. It's his second ever 3 figure haul and beats his 150 points from his Auckland 250 final in January.

Great result for Cam against an opponent he likely knows a lot about from college tennis, different years at college and really the level they played at in juniors but born months apart. Amazing to think Cam is now playing in an ATP 500 SF a little over 18 months after turning pro in June 2017!! Amazing progress but Zevrev will be a real test.

SF:  Cameron Norrie WR 64 vs (2) Alexander Zverev (GER) WR 3 (= CH)

There is no head-to-head.

Sadly, Isner (3) finally came out on top after three hours five minutes & 50 seconds with a scoreline of 7-6(2) 6-7(4) 7-6(4)!

Interesting last 4 line up - Cam v Zverev, Isner v Kyrgios. Acapulco traditionally (from the 2013 and 2016 surface speed assessments on Tennis Abstract) has been a slow surface (only slower hardcourt has been Indian Wells) but this years line up (and a comment someone made on the WTA section of this forum) suggests it may be playing quicker? Anyone seen any action from there at all?

Shame there are no Brits left in Mexico to challenge the  Zverev's. I always think they will be very strong Davis Cup pair for germany.

Good to see you back Flamingowings!
