I don't understand why it's ok for WTA 125s to play qualifying at the weekend but not ITFs. Where's the logic?

Still waiting for the WTA schedule and draws to be uprdated. Sharma on the draw, but replaced in the order of play. Katie (and Maria Sanchez) still on the order of play and in the draw, less than 30 minutes before qualifying starts confuse confuse

So Dan plays Phoenix this week drawn v escobedo round one then taro daniel.

All 16 seeds are ranked top 100, goffin is top. The draw is really stacked with good players, stronger than one or two atp250 events like Newport or such like.

I'm surprised that Dan is playing so much tennis. I keep waiting for it to bite him in the bum, but so far it seems OK.

He is obviously getting advised by David Felgate as his experienced coach , I suspect Felgate recognises for someone like Dan actually playing is maybe better for him than practice, in terms of keeping him focussed on match tight. And whilst waiting for Miami qualies to kick in, probably felt a couple of matches in Phoenix would be fine - the draw is so stacked, after Daniel it will be top 100 players all the way, so probably unlikely on law of averages that Dan will go all the way, but 2 or 3 matches if he can get them all add to the points and presumably would push him up the ranks. Dan is probably the highest ranked non seed I suspect, so shame he didnt quite sneak in and avoid the Monday start.
