Week 8 - (ITF W25) - Glasgow, GB Hard

Jodie has lost the first set 4-6. She had 3-2 40-15* and A-40*, but couldn't break and then got broken at 4-4. Looks like she is competing well and a close contest.

Maia 1-3* final set

Jodie *1-3 second set. She's had 40-15* and on both Pemra's service games this set, but not been able to convert any of those chances.

Great turnaround for Maia from *1-4 to *5-4, but can she serve it out?

Served out to love! :) :)

Wins 5-7 6-3 6-4 - great fightback in both the match and that final set.

Maia was 0-40 at *3-4 after getting the break back so that really is a remarkable turnaround. Well done!

Both favourites came through in yesterday's matches involving GB players and I'd take that scenario today as that would mean 2 joining Maia on round 2

Emma 1/3 vs 9/4
Freya 4/5 vs 10/11 (although that's as close to 50/50 as uou can get with it not
Laura 6/5 vs 8/13
Fran 4/1 vs 1/7

Fran's always looked the toughest task.

So Emma's the only person odds on to win? I always forget which way round the odds works

I bet against both GB women yesterday, and took them both off after the first set (which was good thinking for Maia, but overly optimistic for Jodie). However, both 10ps went kerching.

Difficult to tell with Emma Rad as she hasn't played (competitively) for three months. 3.25 and 1.33 seems a little generous to her but her opponent doesn't seem to have won much recently ...

I like Sanchez after seeing her several years back at Wimbly qualis play a tough match against Lucy Brown but if Laura plays like she did against Von Deichmann, she's got a good chance.

Will put 10p against Freya - she's still a little fave and it's the perfect double play.
