Week 8 - ITF M25 - Glasgow, Great Britain (indoor hard)

There seems to be quite a lot of money going on Escoffier.
Jack was the clear favourite last night (1.7 v 2.2 approx)
But this morning it's 1.8 v 1.9

Evan is a set down, but is on serve in the second.

Evan now levels the match taking the 2nd set on a TB.

Not to be for Evan, more's the pity, but still a good week for him:

SF:  (6) Jeremy Jahn (GER) ITF 226 (ATP 386) defeated (WC) Evan Hoyt ITF 66 (ATP 494) by 6-4 6-7(2) 6-3

Looks a bit of a collapse from Jack. Has gone from 6-3 *3-3 to 6-3 3-6 0-4*

Sadly, not to be for Jack, either:

SF:  (2) Antoine Escoffier (FRA) ITF 307 (ATP 354) defeated (IR) Jack Draper ITF 79 (ATP 561) by 4-6 6-3 6-1

Looks as though he just ran out of steam in the decider.  cry

So another reasonably strong week from the Brits with two in the SF, but when all is said and done, not a single ATP point to show for it.

ATP are minimal at this level anyway.
Bump up your ITF ranking and get direct into challengers. Jack may be able to get in using a JE.

Having said all that, I hope Evan's win over Liam is not an omen for the Wales v England match tomorrow.  Sorry to my Welsh friends, but no divided loyalties on that one at all.

England three points to the good after 18 minutes courtesy of an Owen Farrell penalty.  smile

The sheep-botherers put the scores level with a penalty of their own, then Tom Curry scored a try for the Red Roses which was converted by Mr Farrell to put England 10-3 up!  smile
